Common troubleshooting

  • Confirm that you selected an input format supported by the current tool and follow the steps shown on that tool's page.
  • Check the current tool-specific file-size, page-count, file-count and output limits before retrying. Limits vary by tool.
  • Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are not supported and fail closed without a password or decryption workflow.
  • Malformed PDFs, unsupported input formats and inputs outside current bounds may be rejected instead of being processed.
  • Most tools process supported file bytes in your browser. Word to Image, Word to PDF and OCR PDF disclose temporary Secure Cloud upload before you start. Ordinary website network requests may still occur for page assets, browser-direct HTTPS URL intake or other site functions.
  • Review the downloaded result before sharing it, especially when page order, overlays, numbering, watermarks or visual signatures matter.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I see all current tools?

The PDF Tools hub lists all current public tools. Each tool page explains supported formats and where processing happens; Word to Image, Word to PDF and OCR PDF clearly disclose Secure Cloud processing before file selection.

Why was my password-protected PDF rejected?

Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are unsupported. PDFandDOC does not request, upload, store or use a password for decryption.

Does Fill PDF complete existing form fields?

No. Fill PDF adds flattened text, date, checkbox and simple-mark overlays; it does not detect or fill native AcroForm or XFA fields.

Does Sign PDF create a digital signature?

No. The current Visual Sign tool adds a typed, drawn or uploaded visual signature as flattened page content. It is not a certificate-backed digital signature or e-sign workflow.

Can PDFandDOC make a scanned PDF searchable or extract its text?

Image to Word provides browser-local OCR for supported images and exports editable DOCX text. PDF to Text still extracts only an existing PDF text layer. OCR PDF / Make Searchable PDF is the separate Secure Cloud searchable-PDF workflow.

Is there a support email, chat, ticket system or response-time SLA?

This Help page is self-service documentation for current product behavior. It does not define a customer-support email, chat or ticket channel, support hours, response SLA or escalation path.

Current boundaries

  • PDF to Word exports existing native text to editable DOCX in your browser and does not add OCR or silently switch to cloud processing. Word to PDF is a separate Secure Cloud DOCX-only route; legacy DOC and scanned or image-only PDF reconstruction remain unsupported.
  • Image to Word provides browser-local OCR for supported images and exports editable DOCX text. PDF to Text extracts an existing PDF text layer only. OCR PDF / Make Searchable PDF is Secure Cloud.
  • PDFandDOC does not provide password prompts, password upload, decryption or permission-bypass workflows.
  • Browser-local processing does not guarantee universal safety, anonymity, malware protection, confidentiality, legal suitability or regulatory compliance.
  • Automated checks do not replace independent security review or complete manual accessibility and cross-browser testing.
  • This page does not create a customer-support organization, support channel, SLA, contact promise, account/billing support or incident escalation service.
