About this workflow
Split PDF turns one accepted PDF into separate one-page PDF files. It is useful when every page needs to stand on its own rather than when you want one new PDF containing only a chosen subset of pages.
The browser reads the source, creates the page outputs locally and presents the generated files for download. There is no OCR step and no server conversion fallback.
What to check before processing
Confirm the source page count and preview before processing, especially when front matter, blank pages or scanned inserts make the visible page numbering different from printed numbers on the page.
If you only need a few pages in one resulting PDF, use Extract PDF pages instead. If you need to remove pages while keeping the rest together, Delete PDF pages is the more direct workflow.
What to expect from the result
The result is a set of one-page PDF files derived from the source. The result state identifies the generated page outputs and provides the available downloads rather than pretending that the split produced one combined document.
Splitting changes the document packaging, not the visual content of each copied page. Review any page that contains interactive or unusual PDF features before treating the split copy as final.
Common uses
- Separate a multipage scan into individual records.
- Create one-page files for distribution to different recipients.
- Break a compiled PDF into pages before reorganizing selected material.
Tips for a better result
- Check the source page count before splitting so you know how many outputs to expect.
- Use Extract PDF pages when you want selected pages together in one PDF.
- Keep the original multipage document until the individual outputs have been reviewed.
Frequently asked questions

- This workflow creates one PDF per source page. Use Extract PDF pages when you want a selected range or set of pages in one new PDF.
- Is splitting done on a server?
- No. Supported splitting runs locally in the browser with no Secure Cloud fallback.
