About this workflow

Extract PDF pages creates a new PDF from the page numbers or inclusive ranges you choose. Unlike Split PDF, the selected pages stay together in one output and retain their original document order.

Extraction runs locally in the browser. The source is not modified, and no OCR or remote processing is introduced when the selected pages are copied to the new PDF.

What to check before processing

Use the source preview and page count to translate any printed page labels into actual PDF page positions. Enter valid page numbers or ranges such as 1,3-5 and review the selection before processing.

Choose Extract when the goal is to keep a subset. Choose Delete PDF pages when it is easier to describe what should be removed from a mostly unchanged document.

What to expect from the result

The result is one PDF containing only the selected source pages in their original source order. The result state identifies the generated PDF and provides a truthful preview when available.

Extraction does not rewrite the visible contents of copied pages. Keep the source until you have confirmed that the intended page boundaries and count are present.

Common uses

  • Share one chapter or appendix from a larger PDF.
  • Create a smaller packet from selected pages of a reference document.
  • Pull a set of scanned pages into one separate PDF.

Tips for a better result

  • Use the actual PDF page positions rather than printed page numbers when they differ.
  • Combine ranges when adjacent pages belong together.
  • Check the result page count against the selection before sharing it.

Frequently asked questions

Does extraction change the original PDF?
No. It creates a new PDF from the selected pages and leaves the selected source file unchanged.
What is the difference between Extract and Split?
Extract keeps the selected pages together in one new PDF. Split creates separate one-page PDF files for the whole source.
