What this tool does

Word to Text runs locally in your browser so you can prepare, preview and export the supported result without a server upload.

This extracts plain text from DOCX locally. Word layout, styling and embedded media are not preserved, and legacy DOC files are not accepted by this local path.

How to use it

  1. Choose the supported input file or files from your device.
  2. Review the preview and adjust the available output options.
  3. Run Word to Text, review the result and download it when it is ready.

Limits and fidelity

  • Support depends on browser capabilities and the source file format.
  • Very large or complex files can be limited by available device memory and processing speed.
  • Password-protected PDFs are not supported when a PDF is the input.

Privacy

Supported processing happens in your browser. Selected file bytes are not sent to PDFandDOC servers.

Safety

Keep the original file and inspect the downloaded result before replacing an important document or asset.

About this workflow

Word to Text extracts plain text from a DOCX file in the browser. It is a text-extraction workflow, not a Word renderer and not a legacy DOC converter.

The selected DOCX is represented by a truthful file card rather than a fake document-page preview. Extraction starts only from the supported DOCX package and does not upload the file for server conversion.

What to check before processing

Choose a DOCX file and confirm its filename, type and size in the selected state. Legacy .doc files use a different binary format and are not accepted by this workflow.

Plain-text extraction intentionally ignores most Word layout. Headers, tables, text boxes, fields or other structures can be represented differently depending on what text the current extractor supports.

What to expect from the result

The actual extracted text appears in the result state for review and can be downloaded as plain text. Formatting, page breaks, fonts and document styling are not preserved in TXT output.

Use the preview to check ordering before download. If visual fidelity or a PDF representation is required, Word to PDF is the separate DOCX-only Secure Cloud workflow.

Common uses

  • Recover readable text from a DOCX for a plain-text workflow.
  • Copy document text into a code editor or notes system.
  • Inspect DOCX text without sending the document for remote conversion.

Tips for a better result

  • Expect formatting and layout to be lost in TXT output.
  • Review text from complex tables or floating objects carefully.
  • Use Word to PDF when page presentation matters more than plain text.
